The Breen family took up residence at No. 2 The Tontines in February 1981, having moved to Castleconnell from Limerick City. William and Elizabeth Breen and their four daughters (Toni, Charlotte, Natalie and Vanessa)  quickly took to village life, making friend with the Murphys at No 4 Tonville, and the Fitzpatricks down the lane in Palos Verde. William Breen Junior arrived in 1982, the only Breen not technically a blow-in to the village.
